Not much visible progress to report. Repairs of last month's damage have been repaired and another selection of goodies have been purchased, swapped and donated. The Class 40 and wagons above are some of the acquisitions. The girder bridge is starting to shape up too.

The Class 40 is part of the expanded plans for the railway section. The double track will be extended around the garage to give some passing freight traffic (two trains in each direction) as well as the DMU service. A cement terminal will be at the other end of the scenic side. Cement trains will arrive from the Lichfield (right-hand) end, shunt the terminal and then return from whence they came. There will be two rakes of Presflos, one of Prestwins (Airfix kits) and two of air-brakes PCAs (Hornby). There will normally be one vac. braked (Presflo/Prestwin) and one air braked rake (PCA) at the terminal with one vac. working and one air working per session.

The next length of the supporting frame has been errected so that the third baseboard can be added. The baseboard nearest the camera is not part of Redhill, it was built for a forthcoming book on building baseboards.

By way of light relief a Police Morris 1100 has finally made it off the workbench. It started life as a Minix plastic model and has had Cararama wheels and top box, TPM windscreen wipers, homemade decals, registrations from Signs of the times, a plastic card interior and wing mirrors from kitchen foil and fuse wire.

The arches in the background will be under the railway as it passes behind the bus station. They are made from Scalescenes kits. You download these from the website, print them out, stick them to card and build like any normal card kit. The advantage being that once you have purchased the download you can print off as many copies as you need. Ideal for large scenes or inveterate bodgers.
