Inspirations

A number of model layouts have provided inspiration for the Redhill project.

First and foremost is the ‘grand-daddy’ of all motorised bus layouts ‘Walford Arches’ which was created by the late Tony Chlad. It has been featured in Railway Modeller and Model Buses.

A motorised bus layout which is well worth looking at is ‘Ridings’ by Bruce Lake.

On the railway side I have been drawn to ‘Hayley Mills’, an ‘OO’ layout by John Emerson of the Bentley Model Railway Group and Saffron Street, a P4 layout by the Risborough & Distric MRC. Both feature railways on viaducts picking their way through urban sprawl.
