Using Infra-red Function Module FB-E

The FB-E controls the following functions:

Connection 1 = Set speed to drive position 0 (stop)
Functions like an infra-red stop module.
The vehicle brakes and stops. Stop light turns on automatically.

Connection 2 = Bus stop, indicators off, interior light off (Stop time adjustable using CV103)
CV103 = 0 Untimed stop. Vehicle can only be restarted using function 6 CV103 = 1-63 Bus stops for 1-63 seconds. After this it automatically restarts.

Connection 3 = Bus stop, indicators off, interior light on
For stop time see connection 2.
The interior light (Light2) is switched on whilst at the stop.

Connection 4 = Bus stop, right indicator on, interior light on
For stop time see connection 2.
The right indicator is switched on and the interior light (Light2) is switched on whilst at the stop.

Connection 5 = Bus stop, hazard flashers on, interior light on
For stop time see connection 2.
The hazard flashers (right and left indicators) are switched on and the interior light (Light2) is switched on whilst at the stop.

Connection 6 = Bus departs with left indicator and interior light switched off
Interior light (light 2) is switched off
The left indicator is switched on Vehicle waits for the number of seconds set in CV105
Vehicle drives off using the drive position set in CV106
Left indicator is turned off after the number of seconds set in CV107

Connection 7 = Slow to speed set in CV102 and indicate right
Vehicle brakes to the drive position set in CV102 and indicates right.
Indicator flashing time is set by CV101

Connection 8 = Set speed to drive position 0 (stop)
Functions like an infra-red stop module.
The vehicle brakes and stops. Stop light turns on automatically.

With this module a bus stop can be controlled.

Note:
Functions 2 - 7 are implemented only in vehicles with the decoder’s vehicle kind set to 13, 14 or 15!

Example of a bus stop on the road:

>> LED 7 --> stop --> LED 2-5 -->>

The bus arrives at LED 7, switches the right turn signal on and decreases its speed.
When it reaches LED 2-5:
LED 2 = stops with no indicators or interior light.
LED 3 = stops with no indicators. The interior light turns on after 2 seconds.
LED 4 = stops with the left indicator flashing. The interior light turns on after 2 seconds.
LED 5 = stops with hazard flashers (left and right inidcators) operating. The interior light turns on after 2 seconds.

To restart the bus LED 2-5 is switched to connection 6 using a relay.,BR. The bus turns the interior light off.
It waits the number of seconds set in CV105 before it drives off.
It starts with the drive position set in CV106.
The indicator or hazard lights are switched off after the number of seconds set in CV107.

Any following traffic is stopped automatically by the ABS/anti-collision system built into the decoders.

Example of a bus stop with layby:

>> LED 7 --> stop --> LED 2-5 -->>

Easy control of a bus layby using relays:
LED 7 is switched on by a relay contact.
A second contact on this relay is controls the junction at the entry to the bus stop.
After the bus drives past LED 7, the relay can be switched off.
Thus the layby junction is reset and other traffic can drive past at the bus stop.
At the same time the LED 2-5 should be switched on for the appropriate bus stop function.

When the bus is ready to depart LED 2-5 is switched to connection 6.
Traffic can drive past the bus stop whilst the bus is waiting.
Passing traffic can be stopped if LED 1 (stop) is activated at the same time.
The traffic will halt and the bus can drive out.
Once the bus has driven out, LED 1 (stop) can be switched off again and the traffic will start flowing again automatically.
